IN weekend

We went to IN to visit Brandon's family this weekend. We met Patti at the River to see their new vacation spot. It was so so so gorgeous. Right now they are still in the process of major clean-up but they have done so much and the view is just incredible. Me and the kids went with Patti to the house to get some lunch and John and Brandon went to pick up their newly acquired sea dew (Sp?) Then we went to visit Gran. Mason ADORED Gran. Ellie was not so sure. But Gran was really happy we came to visit. We need to go more! Saturday night, we went to Cam and Jen's for a cookout. The food was great and the kids had so much fun. We rounded off the weekend with a visit to Pappaw and Linda's for lunch yesterday. It was a great weekend. I told Brandon on the way home that our kids are so wonderful and easy going! We are lucky.
Brandon had an early flight this morning to Canada. He had to leave the house at 4 am! Poor thing. I am pretty sure he'll be back Wednesday, but how bad is it that I don't even know for sure!

The kids all had such a great time. It's a shame that the girls don't get to see each other more often. Ellie and Macy really got along. Macy is a stinker. She got in trouble for throwing one of grandma's kittens in the air. (Imagine throwing a ball straight up as hard as you can!) Macy gave rides on her gator and they all rode bikes around the deck. Cam and Jen have a beautiful home and it was just so nice and relaxing. Madison had Mason in stitches playing with him in the living room. They played this little echo game. He'd grunt at her and then she'd grunt back and he would just belly laugh. So cute!

I called Mama on my way to school this morning and she is planning to come tonight. She needs her weekly fill of Ellie and Mason time and she wants to help me with the night and morning routine. I told Ellie we are so lucky to have such a great Nana!

Ok, so I have decided that it is my heart's desire to start crafting. I have always crafted in some form or another and it truly is my hobby. I enjoy it and I need a hobby! So I talked to Brandon and he says I can buy a monogram machine. He is actually really supportive and likes the idea of me making some extra money! :)
I had the kids pictures made this weekend. They turned out really well. I hate that this is the first time I have had pictures of Mason done. I will have to be more vigilant about getting them done from now on.
We are heading up to IN this weekend to visit Brandon's family. Ellie is really excited. It's hard for us to get up there with Brandon work schedule. He's been gone 3 out of the last 5 weekends, then we have so much going on at home just keeping up the farm on weekends. But we planned this a few weeks ago. We really need to take the kids to see Granny.
The kids are great. Mason is still into everything. He has started doing "Indian" and waving in the last week. And sometimes if you ask him what the doggy says he'll make a little "woof" sound. So cute. I got Ellie on video feeding the dogs the other night. It's just something I want to remember. She is soo grown up about it and just so in charge when she feeds them. Her comfort around animals makes me so happy.
Another busy week has started off. But we'll make it!

This has been a fun week. I am in pre-service training all week and so there is not child care. Kenny and Linda came down to keep the kids on Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure they know how much I appreciated them coming. It made things so easy because I knew the kids loved them and would barely miss me, plus Linda did stuff around the house!!!! Ellie had such a great time. She loves all her grandparents so much.
Ellie absolutely cracks me up. The other night she said "Mama, I have two questions. Number 1, I ate all my dinnner. Number 2, I grew while I was at Nana and Poppop's." Um, ok, those are not questions but thanks for the info. God I love her.
Mason has become our family daredevil. He is going to wear me out and he isn't even on his feet yet. I was getting us ready to go one morning last week and the kids were in the living room. Mason was on the floor. Ellie's little chair was in the middle of the floor in front of the coffee table. I peeked in to check on them and found Mason on the back of the chair with one knee and hand on the chair and one knee mid-air heading for the coffee table with the other hand on the coffee table. I reinacted the whole thing that night to see if he could do it again and by-golly, he could. So I took pictures!
Ellie had her three year check-up and Mason had his 9 month check-up. They are both in great health. Ellie weighs 29 lbs. She is in about the 50th percentile for both height and weight. Mason weighs 19 lbs and is 29.5 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for weight, the 50th for height and the 80th for head.
